Rules

Mines by Spribe uses a grid of 25 tiles. Before the round you choose how many mines are hidden — anywhere from 1 to 24 — and place your bet. Each tile you open that hides a star increases your multiplier. You can cash out after any safe tile. Hit a mine and the bet is lost.

More mines means bigger multipliers for each safe tile, but a much higher chance of hitting a mine early.

How the risk scales

Fairness

Mines is provably fair: mine positions are fixed by a seed before you start, and you can check the hash afterwards to confirm the layout was not changed during the round. The published RTP is 97%.

Different settings, same odds

Mines can look like it has easy and hard modes, but the maths treats them evenly. Compare two choices that feel very different:

Odds of opening safe tiles

Your chance of opening several safe tiles in a row depends only on how many mines are hidden. Exact figures for the 25-tile grid:

Questions

Is there a pattern to where mines are?

No. Mine positions are random for every round. Patterns and "safe tile" tricks don't work.

How many mines should I choose?

It only changes the risk profile, not your expected return. Fewer mines means smaller, more frequent wins; more mines means rarer, bigger ones.

Can I cash out at any time?

Yes, after any safe tile you can take your current multiplier.

Is 1 mine the safest setting?

It gives the highest chance per tile, but the multiplier grows very slowly. Over many rounds every setting returns about the same 97%.
